NEW: Deductible Buybacks for High Value Homes

NEW: Deductibles Buyback from Kinsale are monoline policies that ease oversized CAT deductibles without replacing the primary policy

More Value for High Value Homeowner Accounts

As a High Value Homeowners broker, you’re probably familiar with CAT deductibles that hit $500,000 or more, and no stranger to the frustrations that come with trying to place them.

1–5%
1–10%

Typical Wildfire deductible:
$30K–$500K on a $3M–$10M home
Insurify & FBIA, 2026

Typical Named Storm deductible:
$30K–$1M on a $3M–$10M home
NAIC, 2026

Find relief for your accounts—and yourself—with Deductible Buybacks from the High Value Homeowners Division at Kinsale.

Here’s how it works:

If a primary policy carries a $25,000 AOP deductible and a $500,000 Wildfire deductible, it won’t respond to a wildfire loss until the loss exceeds $500,000. However, Kinsale can issue a Wildfire-only Deductible Buyback policy that attaches at $25,000 with a $475,000 limit and covers the $25,000–$500,000 layer.

So, on a $1,000,000 wildfire loss:

Insured Retention
$0 – $25,000

Buyback Policy
$25,000 – $500,000
($475,000 limit)

Primary Policy
$500,000 – $1,000,000
